The Yatagan (Turkish sword), sometimes referred as the T-84-120, is a prototype main battle tank aimed at the export marked. It was developed in Ukraine to meet the Turkish Army requirement for a new MBT. Comparative evaluation trials took place in 2000, however the Yatagan was not selected.
It is a further development of the Oplot MBT, fitted with NATO compatible 120-mm smoothbore gun and new bustle-mounted autoloader, fitted with blow-out panels. It's design features were tested in the improved T-72-120 main battle tank.
Protection of the Yatagan is similar to that of the Oplot main battle tank. It has welded steel hull and turret and is fitted with built-in explosive reactive armor.
It's 120-mm gun is compatible with all standard NATO tank munitions. The Yatagan can also fire Ukrainian-made anti-tank guided missiles in the same manner as ordinary rounds. It is a special version of the Russian AT-11 Sniper ATGM. A total of 40 rounds are carried. Autoloader holds 22 of them. Further 16 are stowed in additional stowage places inside the combat compartment.

Secondary armament consists of coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun and remotely-controlled 12.7-mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
