The marder vts1 is a tank hunter based on the Marder IFV chassis, it was a part of an effort to find a use for the Leopard 1 guns. the first prototype was made in the late 70's and consisted of the chassis, a 105mm L7 main cannon, equal to that of the Leopard 1 and an autoloader to feed the cannon.
